Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco – Capilla San Roque

Belonging to the Franciscan Order, it, together with the Chapel of Saint-Roch and the adjacent monastery, constitutes an ensemble classified as a National Historic Monument in 1942. The Franciscans built the first church here in the name of St. Francis of Assisi in 1583. In 1963, a tapestry was placed above the main altar. This is one of the largest tapestries in the world (8 by 12 meters). It represents The Glorification of Saint Francis by Horace Butler.
